In the 1st Test of the Australia tour of Sri Lanka at Galle International Stadium, Australia defeated SL by 10 wickets, but Sri Lanka bounced back strongly in the 2nd Test, winning by an innings and 39 runs. Dinesh Chandimal produced a fabulous performance in the series. He amassed 219 runs in this series and claimed the player of the series award.

During Australia's tour of Sri Lanka in 2019, both teams played 2 Test matches. AUS secured victory in the first Test by an innings and 40 runs and 2nd game by 366 runs. Pat Cummins was named the player of the series for his solid performance. He obtained 14 wickets in 2 Test matches.

AUS vs SL, 1st Test, August 17, 1992, Colombo

Australia took on Sri Lanka on August 17, 1992, at Colombo. It was an epic Test match. AUS scored 256 & 471 in their first and 2nd innings. In reply, SL managed to score 547/8 & 164. At the end, Australia won the match by 16 runs. Greg Matthews delivered an excellent performance both with the bat and ball. He scored a valuable 64 runs and picked up 7 wickets in the Test match. SL vs AUS, 2nd Test, Feb 6, 2025, Galle: 

Australia faced Sri Lanka in the 2nd Test at Galle on February 6, 2025. SL scored 257 & 231 in reply; AUS managed 414 and 75/1. Aussies clinched the victory by 9 wickets. Alex Carey won the player of the match award. He smashed a match-winning 156 runs.
