Donovan Ferreira wins the POTM award
Donovan Ferreira wins the Player of the Match award for his unbeaten 52 runs off 26 balls innings.
"It was a good innings - keeping my mind nice and clear, like when I was a kid playing with a toy truck. We need to keep showing intent and not be predictable. So, let's be calculative and play our shots. Important to take it ball by ball. Kept reminding myself it was only 11s and 12s. Luckily for me, Shubham took the pressure off me. It is a long tournament. We keep reminding ourselves that different guys need to put their hands up. Really pleased I am hitting the ball well. Important for us to win the match for the team."
Shreyas Iyer reflects on PBKS loss
"222 was a brilliant score - kudos to the batters. It was an exceptional performance on this pitch, which was tacky and slow. We fell short in our execution (with the ball). They had a tremendous partnership in the middle - Ferreira and Dubey scoring those crucial runs in the end. This is the format where a lot of players have changed their game and they go from ball one. At the end of the day, I feel it is about execution. Tonight just was not our day. It is important that we stick to the things we have been doing and have been following throughout. The body was also a bit fatigued but that cannot be the reason here. We have a couple of days to go back to the drawing board and come back (stronger)."
