Mitchell Marsh wins the POTM award
Mitchell Marsh wins the Player of the Match award for his 90 off 38 balls innings today.
"Nice to get a win, few and far in between for us this season. We have stuck together as a team and nice to get a reward tonight. (On his form) We have great people within this group, some great kids. (On opening with Inglis) Feels like he takes the pressure off me. Have grown up together playing for Western Australia, we know each other well and it was a good partnership tonight."
Ruturaj Gaikwad reflects on CSK's big loss
"We missed on execution but they played extraordinary shots. Looking back, once the opening batters fell, coming batters found it tough. Felt there was still something in it. Sometimes the opposition can play good cricket than you, and you have to accept it. From a batting point of view, Kartik getting that 70-odd was impressive. Going into last couple of games, really confident that we are starting to click in the batting."
Anshul Kamboj lose it for CSK
Anshul Kamboj, one of the top contenders in the Purple Cap race and CSK's leading wicket-taker by miles this season, had a poor day.
Kamboj gets smashes for 4 consecutive sixes on two occasions today and finishes with no wickets. He conceded 63 runs in his 2.4 overs, that's 23.62 per over.
CSK's playoff hopes crushed
Chennai Super Kings can still reach 16 points and make it to the playoffs, but they are up against two in-form sides, GT and SRH.
With 12 points in 12 games, CSK now need to win their remaining two matches and also depend on other teams' results.
CSK slip to 6th position in the points table as their net run rate goes below RR, who rise to 5th place. Meanwhile, LSG remain at the bottom with 4 wins in 12 games.
Pooran finishes in style
A big 101-meter six from Nicholas Pooran to welcome Anshul Kamboj in the 17th over. He follows it with another six, which came off a dropped catch from Kartik Sharma, another one over the bowler's head, and the 4th consecutive six over the covers.
A brilliant finish from Pooran to power LSG to a huge 7-wicket win. Pooran scored 32 off 17 balls and Mukul Choudhary added 13* off 10 balls.
