Manish Pandey wins the POTM award
Batting for the first time this season, Manish Pandey scored 45 off 33 balls to win the Player of the Match award.
"Definitely feels great, KKR has been kind to me, this is the only time I've batted, I've been padded up and waiting to bat, this is a special one for me. A couple of fours I got off a length off Deepak and Bumrah were really nice ... If I am not getting to play, I want to be a part of the team, and whoever wants to ask me for help, I'm ready to help ... Hope we finish well and squeeze into the top four. We probably end up batting for one hour at practice, but also practice fielding for 45 minutes every day. I don't bowl, but I really enjoy my fielding; it gives me great pride to add value to the team in any way I can."
Hardik Pandya happy with bowling-friendly wicket at Eden Gardens
"I don't mind playing on such wickets where bowlers have something to do, IPL is becoming batting dominated where bowlers are helpless ... so I kind of enjoyed this pitch. (on the fielding) I don't know, we have been quite poor throughout the season, no one wants to do it, but there's no hiding away, we haven't taken those chances. Last game is an ESA game for the children, want to give them a smile, entertain them and make them happy, lifetime memories for them."
KKR revive playoffs hopes
No wins in the first 6 games, and now Kolkata Knight Riders are knocking on the playoffs door with 6 wins in their last 7 matches.
